Mike Skinner -- Bill Davis Racing Event Preview
Race/Date: American Commercial Lines 200 – March 16, 2007
Location: Atlanta Motor Speedway – Hampton, Ga.
* This week’s race truck for Atlanta Motor Speedway is Chassis No. 5-78. This is the winning chassis from California Speedway a few weeks ago. Skinner and the No. 5 team seem very confident with the truck and look forward in finishing strong once again at Atlanta.
* Pole Position… Last fall, Skinner and the No. 5 Toyota Tundra team captured the pole position at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The team led the series in poles in 2006 with eight starts from the pole.
* Numbers, Numbers, Numbers… Skinner leads the NCTS with the most laps led so far this season with 52 laps. Skinner also has had two top-five finishes at the first two races of the NCTS season.
* Moving on up… With Skinner’s win in California the last time out, that moves him into a tie for first place in the NCTS Championship points along with Jack Sprague.
* Listen and watch … The American Commercial Lines 200 is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET Friday, March 16. It will broadcast live on Speed Channel (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 128).
- Mike Skinner Racing Quotes:
Mike Skinner on racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway:
“Atlanta is one of my best racetracks. Even though we have struggled there on raceday, we have always managed to qualify well. We normally struggle a great deal with the balance of the truck in the races at Atlanta, however we figured out a thing or two in California last week and should have a good conventional setup
going into Atlanta.”
“We have definitely improved the truck’s balance and I think we proved that in California. We are running the same truck we ran in California this weekend as well. If we can come out of Atlanta with a top-10 that would be great, anything more than that would be a great bonus to this Toyota Tundra team.”
