Mike Skinner -Bill Davis Racing Event Preview
Race/Date: Ford 200 – Nov.16, 2007
Location: Homestead-Miami Speedway – Miami, Fla.
  • NOTES:

· This week’s race truck for Homestead-Miami Speedway is Chassis No. 5-112. This is the same truck Mike Skinner drove to a third-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway a few weeks ago.

* It’s Going To Be a Showdown… Skinner and Ron Hornaday Jr. have duked it out all year long in the battle for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship. The score will be settled this weekend and one will walk away as the 2007 NCTS Champion. Skinner leads Hornaday by 29 points going into Homestead, the fourth-closest margin in series history. ph1.JPG (90316 bytes)

* 100th Start… Not only will the Homestead race mark the 100th NCTS start for the Toyota Tundra, but it will also be the 100th Toyota start for Skinner. He is the only driver to have run in a Toyota since its NCTS debut in 2004.

* What a Year… Bill Davis Racing has had an incredible 2007 season in the NCTS. The BDR truck teams have captured 12 poles, eight wins, 29 top-five finishes and 41 top-10 finishes this season.

* Stats… Skinner leads the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in a number of categories. He has the top marks in Driver Rating (117.4), Average Running Position (5.671), Laps in the Top 15 (3,650 of 3,935) and Laps Led (1,099 laps, 1,208.31 miles).

· Pole Record… Skinner captured his 43rd career NCTS pole and broke his own season record of 10 poles in a single season when he captured his 11th pole last weekend at Phoenix. BDR now owns the single season pole marks in two national series. Jeff Gordon won 11 Busch Poles in 1992 as a NASCAR Busch Series competitor.

· Pole Man… The No. 5 Toyota Tundra team has captured the award for most poles this season (11). The team also won that honor last year.

* Fourth Truck… BDR’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series wheel man Dave Blaney will attempt to qualify the No. 22 Tundra for Friday night’s Ford 200. * Listen and watch … The Ford 200 is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday, Nov.16. It will broadcast on the Speed Channel (TV), MRN (radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 128).

Mike Skinner’s Racing Quotes:
Mike Skinner on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“Well this is it. Jeff [Hensley, crew chief] and my guys have done a heck of a job this year, and hopefully we can get it done this weekend for BDR and Toyota. Homestead is a great track, and even though we have not had that much luck on it in the past, we are going to give it all we’ve got to make it come out in our favor this weekend.”
