- KEY MOTORSPORTS EMBARKS ON DRIVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WITH 22-YEAR-OLD DUSTIN SKINNER – CHAMPION MIKE SKINNER’S SON
MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (March 14, 2008) - Key Motorsports has established a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver development program for 22-year-old son Dustin Skinner – the youngest son of former NCTS driving champion Mike Skinner. That project entered the action phase recently when the parties
tested for two days at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Florida – Dustin’s home track. Read More!

- Skin’s racing thus far into Speed Weeks 2007!
We started off testing with the fastest laps on the track, but a fresh set of tires and new spring package sent Skin into the wall; making his racing efforts seem pretty weak before the races even started!
The Skinner Performance team rallied to fix the car and make the first ASA Type Crate Late Model event at New Smyrna Speedway the following night on Friday, February 9. Dustin qualified 9th, but drew the pole position when FASCAR inverted the field. The goal was to run the race with caution to make sure the
wreck from the practice session did not damage the race car beyond racing repair. Skin drove smart and finished in the 3rd position with hopes to run every night for the weeks championship.
The following night Skin started in the 8th position (no qualifying for the remainder of the races- cars start based on where they finish the prior race) – by lap 5 Skin easily drove toward the front and before the first caution of the night, held the 3rd spot. When the race re-started he took the lead on
the first lap and looked to win the race before the #38 car drove underneath his bumper and drove Skin head first into the backstretch wall. The race competitor stayed in the gas while wrecking Skin, therefore he was penalized by FASCAR officials, but our car was heavily damaged forcing the team to remove the hood and front panels
before loading back into the race hauler. Skin has attempted to repair his car and will race tonight (Tuesday February 13). How the car will handle is unknown, so I will fill you all in once we see the main event!
He will also be racing 3 more events over the week: Wednesday 2/14 - Thursday 2/15 - Friday 2/16
*Races start each night at 7:30pm at New Smyrna Speedway
Dustin’s next race in the #5 Brighthouse Networks Super Late Model will be on April 21 at New Smyrna Speedway

- Dustin Skinner tops 21 Truck Field at Citrus County
by Larry MacMillan
The FASCAR Pro Trucks brought in 22 competitors for their 50 lap chase for the $1000 to win purse from all over Florida opening the evening with qualifying time trials that were delayed for 30 minutes due to an early rain shower.
Twenty one trucks went on the clock and the final qualifier George Morales out of Hialeah took fast time of 15.002 seconds on the 3/8ths mile. He drew the number 7 pill for the inverted start that saw all 22 trucks take the green.
Wayne Anderson rocketed to the front to set the early pace over pole sitter Dustin Skinner for the first 8 laps before Wayne took it wide on turn two and Skinner ducked under him to take the point.
Several caution flags rearranged the field before it was all over.
The final 10 laps were run under green and Daytona’s Dustin Skinner maintained the lead for the win over 7th starter and fast qualifier George Morales. Wayne Anderson held on to 3rd over Kevin Henry out Orlando and 11th starter George Gorham from Lakeland.
Rounding out the top ten were Andy Megronigle out of Lutz, Paulie Harrake from Fair Lawn, N.J., Scott Bishop for Spartanburg, S.C., Ricky Mosley from W. Palm Beach and Patrick Starpoli from Plantation.

SKINNER BOYS FARE WELL IN FLORIDA RACING!
Jamie Skinner 2 for 2 - Dustin Skinner 3 for 3
Saturday night was a pretty great evening in the Skinner family at New Smyrna Speedway….for the younger Skinners that is!
Jamie Skinner took the checkered flag in a 100 lap pro late model feature – his second win in his last 2 attempts. (Jamie Skinner also won the last FASCAR Pro Truck race at Lakeland in August). After winning the Pro Truck championship last year, Jamie now races on a part time basis and assists teen driver
Chad Akins with his Pro Truck entry- among various other late model racers in Florida.
Dustin Skinner then followed his older brother’s example by grabbing the checkered for the third time in a row in his FASCAR Pro Truck event an hour later! That makes three attempts by the 21-year-old driver in 2006 – ALL WINS! “Skin” plans to run the remaining FASCAR Pro Truck events for this season
and a possible entry in the Snowflake Derby in Pensacola, Florida December 2nd.

- Charlotte County Rain-Out
By: Angela Skinner
May 4, 2004
A lot has happened since I last informed you all of our short track racing weekends; We left Auburndale without running one lap due to electrical problems and left New Smyrna with a first place trophy and evidently my reporting on my late model experiences has made a few folks upset…In fact a few naysayers claim that they will run the Skinner’s right out of Fastruck racing by complaining each week to Fastruck officials.
